In a game that Falcons fans probably would rather switch off anyway, technical issues caused local Atlanta viewers of the ill-fated Falcons vs. Panthers game to hear another separate game already in progress on Fox.
Several Atlanta viewers on social media reported hearing audio from the Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings game during the Falcons vs. Panthers telecast. According to Awful Announcing, viewers of the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets game also heard the sounds of the Skols vs. DaBears.
NBC
Falcons fans, already annoyed with the team in the process of being demolished by the visiting Panthers 34-3, shared their frustrations with the tech issues affecting game audio. Here are some social comments from local game commentators on social media…
“And the blowout is on.” – the broadcast.

Now the TV audio on FOX is playing the feed from other games lmao 🤣
Even the broadcast team doesn’t want to hear this mess…

Fox said screw it…we’Ll just play audio from other games over the Falcons because of how bad it is.

Now FOX has the wrong game audio for the #Falcons game. The broadcast is literally playing another game. Metaphor for this Atlanta game at the moment.

Fox has had enough of the Falcons game and puts the audio of Jets game over it

Did anyone else’s audio on Fox switch to the Jets game while still showing the Falcons imploding against the Panthers? Don’t get me wrong, I am fine with not hearing the call of that Rush pick but this is very disconcerting

How long do you thinK it will take them to notice we’re getting Jets vs Packers game audio on the Falcons-Panthers game?
— Matt Stewart (@MattStewartTV) September 20, 2026
I literally was like why are they talking about Geno Smith … wow… it’s that bad in Atlanta right now … https://t.co/lCegdssnI7

Bold strategy by FOX to put the audio of the Jets/Packers game on while the Falcons are playing.

What is happening with Fox broadcast? I’m watching Panthers/Falcons but I’m listening to Packers/Jets.

Anyone else get the Jets GB broadcast over ours?? Wtf is happening
— Brian Finneran (@BFinn86) September 20, 2026
is anyone else getting Jets audio watching the Falcons game or are the ghosts in my house messing with me?

Fox got the incident corrected as the Falcons vs. Panthers game progressed, but the game itself got no better for Falcons fans. Both the starting quarterback, Cooper Rush, and his backup, Jack Strand threw interceptions that contributed to the Falcons’ second loss of a so far unsatisfying season.
Fox has not commented on the audio issue as this was being posted. The game was seen locally on WAGA Fox 5.
