Former “Bert Show” host Bert Weiss. 99X DJ/programmer Steve Craig. Longtime radio host Carol Blackmon. WSB Radio journalist Sandra Parrish.
These are just a few of the local radio professionals who can say they have been inducted into the Friends of Georgia Radio Hall of Fame. It’s a prestigious honor for local radio pros, and many of the best in local radio throughout the years have added their names to this growing list.
And there’s room for more.
The Friends of Georgia Radio, which owns the Hall of Fame, is calling on its members to submit names for this year’s Hall of Fame class. The nominating process started today. Members of the Friends of Georgia Radio can submit nominations until midnight June 12, 2026.
An announcement of the 2026 class of inductees will be made on June 19th 2026.
The Hall of Fame features a who’s who of local radio talent, executives, and others who have become local legends on Atlanta’s airwaves. Previous inductees (other than the aforementioned include Mike Roberts (who, like Blackmon, was formerly with V103), longtime radio host Kaedy Kiely, WSB talk host Mark Arum, radio executives Mary Catherine Sneed and Rick Caffey.
Those who would like to participate in the induction process will have to become a member of the Friends of Georgia Radio first, then submit their choices before the aformentioned due date.
Run by a group of experienced radio professionals, The Friends of Georgia Radio is a local non-profit organization of “energetic, passionate radio professionals dedicated to Georgia communities, the radio profession, and each other.” The group also raises funds for yearly scholarships for young individuals seeking to start a career in radio broadcasting.
