Peach 94.9 FM was an Adult Contemporary radio station that competed with WSB FM in that format in Atlanta. It launched in 1962 as a religious station (WAVQ), then became AC in 1972, becoming “FM95 WPCH”(or “Peach”) until mid 1991 when it became Peach 94.9. Clear Channel bought the station, and WPCH “Peach” became WLTM “94.9 Lite FM in December 2002, the same year the station began playing all Christmas Music in December, along with other ACs across the country. In 2006, the station went Country and became “The Bull”, which it remains now. The AC format temporarily moved to the co-owned 96.7 frequency before shifting to classic country a year later. The Peach is now an internet-based station, playing soft rock tunes once again. WPCH’s call letters moved to Atlanta TV for the Gray-owned station on channel 17.
