The FIFA World Cup is a mere three weeks away, and those in the ATL who can’t get to the game in person have many opportunities to see and hear the long-awaited global soccer tournament as it happens.
Atlanta is one of the host cities for the event. Eight games will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (or, from June 15 to July 15, when the games will be held, it’s temporary name, Atlanta Stadium.) The Fox Network will carry the English-language telecast of the games. Locally, they will be seen on the Fox-owned WAGA, Fox 5. Fox Sports cable outlet FS1 will air two of the Atlanta games.
Most of the Spanish-language games will be seen on Telemundo (or locally, Telemundo 47) and its streaming co-owned Universo. NBC-owned Peacock will stream most English-language games.
As of this writing, no local broadcast radio station in Atlanta is airing the games in their entirety. WZGC FM, 929 The Game plans game updates, exclusive match analysis, and discussion of the games. iHeart Media will be streaming the games on its website and app. SiriusXM will air each game.
On the web, the AJC and Soccer Down Here will provide extensive digital coverage of the games from start to finish.
