WSB-TV held its annual “Stuff The Bus” drive to supply school supplies for schools across metropolitan Atlanta.
Several Channel 2 pros were in eight different areas on Saturday, July 25th, to collect donations. WSB-TV reports “record-breaking” donations this year, with more than 7,300 backpacks collected. The station’s studios began filling the buses parked outside the minute the gates opened.
“Education means everything to everyone, but especially the children who need that extra support,” said WSB-TV President and General Manager Marian Pittman.
WSB-TV worked with the Children’s Restoration Network and the United Way of Greater Atlanta to get the back-to-school donations to students living in foster care and group homes. The station says the record donations will help 10,000 additional students this year.
