Atlanta CHR station WWWQ (Q99.7) has filled its vacant nighttime shift.
The station has recruited Kannon to fill the slot previously held by Laura Dickerson, who left the station earlier this month in a wave of budget-driven layoffs that swept through the Atlanta cluster and other Cumulus stations nationwide.
Kannon is no stranger to the Atlanta radio market. He previously worked as Music Director and night host at Rhythmic CHR WBTS (95.5 The Beat) in the early 2000’s. He was Associate Program Director and afternoon host at Crosstown WSTR before then.
He currently does afternoons at Hot AC WINK, and co-hosts two syndicated programs, Open House Party and The Kannon Show. It remains to be seen if Kannon’s joining Q99.7 means he may have to alter his schedule or drop his involvement in his existing commitments.
